Frankenstein’s Mocktail Monster

Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Jamaican Rum 3/4 oz Campari 1 oz Pineapple 1/2 oz Lemon Hart 151 Rum 1/2 oz Grapefruit Juice 1/2 oz Lime Juice 1/2 oz Cinnamon Syrup 1/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur 1/4 oz Allspice Dram “

Ingredients for the Mocktail:

  • 1 1/2 oz Jamaican Rum substitute: Use a non-alcoholic rum alternative or a mix of black tea (for body and tannins) with a splash of molasses or brown sugar syrup.
  • 3/4 oz Campari substitute: Replace with a non-alcoholic aperitif (e.g., Lyre’s Italian Orange) or a mix of pomegranate juice and a dash of bitters for the bitter complexity.
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice: Use as is.
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Hart 151 Rum substitute: Use a strong brewed lapsang souchong tea or a non-alcoholic spiced rum for the smoky depth.
  • 1/2 oz Grapefruit Juice: Use as is.
  • 1/2 oz Lime Juice: Use as is.
  • 1/2 oz Cinnamon Syrup: Use as is.
  • 1/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur substitute: Use the syrup from a jar of maraschino cherries or cherry juice with a tiny pinch of almond extract.
  • 1/4 oz Allspice Dram substitute: Create a spiced syrup by boiling water, sugar, allspice berries, and a touch of cinnamon until syrupy.

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well to mix and chill.
  3. Strain into a glass over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with a cherry, a slice of lime, or a sprig of mint for flair.

This mocktail keeps the tropical and spiced flavors of the original while being alcohol-free and just as delightful!
